I read something about a WindowsCE OS instead Linux.
Can anybody confirm this?

Hmm, It has a Windows Mobile logo on the back. Cowon A2 hasn't.

WindowsCE is not an operation system, it is only something like kernel, for example Windows Mobile operation system is also based on WindowsCE kernel.
WindowsCE has not any graphic, it is only basement on which you can build almost anything (GPS navigation, mobile phone, mp3 player etc. ....)
EDIT: wow it have realy 10 band equalizer,

That is pretty darn awesome that it supports h.264/matroska and 720p. Too bad it doesn't have real PDF support though.

Too bad the battery life is worse.
elviselvis> MPEG-4 AVC has 3 basic profiles: baseline, main and high. Some crappy players (i.e. iPod) support only baseline, which means they will not play any standard MPEG-4 AVC video. Almost all movies are encoded as main or high profile.
In user's manual there is mentioned GNU/GPL licence. So I believe it runs on Linux. Tho logo is probably Windows Media (ASF/WMV/WMA).
Odd... nothing about OGM video files.
I think that OGM is an obsolete format which nobody should use anymore. Now that there is a ffmpeg Matroska muxer, we have MKV export in Avidemux and VLC will support it soon too. So there is no need for OGM.
But I'm quite sure the A3 will support it, because OGM is basically just a modification of Ogg which the A3 fully supports.

Anyone has an alternative link? These are dead lol.
As for ogm, it may be obsolete, but 50gig+ of my anime collection is in ogm. T__T. So having the support maybe nice :D
The pmpinside links worked for me, at least the ones I tried.

Maybe it's not what your looking for but xbox with xbmc plays ogg pretty well.
And nothing better than watching anime on your tv.

Any chance the A3 will be able to run some games (basic games, of course, not some Crysis)?
