I am looking to sell my H120 and buy either the X5/X5L or the H10 20. I have been keeping an eye out for the X5 since it was first annouced and I have to say I really like what it has to offer. I always liked Iriver, but I don't like the way they are handling things at the moment. They release a new product and a few months later they discontinue it. I was just wondering if anyone could let me know what they think, wait for the X5 or get a h10 20?

Hey you want to sell you iRiver? How much? I am a former H120 owner and I really miss it. I loved that player. I sold my H120 for my current iAudio M3L. I love my M3L, but I miss the sound from the iRiver. So if you can name the right price I just may take it off your hands.

To summarize, people who wants more bass should buy Iriver?

By adjusting BBE, EQ, iaudio offers very good, if not better sound than iriver. I have H140 and Iaudio U2, I like both player's sound quality. But In line recording, FM of iriver are way better than iaudio, I am sure if it is a good idea to sell H120 for X5 unless you want video playback of X5. Plus Rockbox FW will come out soon.

Check this out!

When Rockbox firmware complete, H1xx will be a prefect DAP without video playback.

The link doesn't work. Do you know what they are going to improve on? On the fly playlist? Gapless? How are they going to improve the H1xx?

By the way I don't think Misticriver.net is up right now. Maybe that's why the link doesn't work.

I looked at the H120 before buying my M3L. It was nearly impossible to find because they had discontinued it to launch the H3xx series.

It sounded like a good player, but I don't miss it. iAudio is much better for me. Even if hot888 is right, I don't like the radio here, and I rip all my CDs to mp3, so I dont use line-in.

The link works. It will include OTF playlist ,real shuffle and it will reduce boot up time to ca 3-4 seconds from 12-13 seconds, will include gameboy game, and much more.

Problem with waiting for Rockbox is not what features you get but when you get it. =)

FM wise, I live in the metropolitan area so reception doesn't seem to be a problem when I tested on my friend's G3. Don't use the line in recording much. I use the h120 voice recorder but the prob picking up of Hdd noice on every spinup makes that pretty much unuseable without an ext mic.

So, I am going to get the X5 while my H120 continues to wait for Rockbox. ;)

I'm not being lazy honest but that link is huge. I only want a brief summary of what Rockbox is???

Is it third party firmware? That sound dodgy if you ask me.

I see they're bringing it out for the H3xx range also!

Here is a summary of Rockbox FW. But the major improvement is the OTF playlist and short booting up time (4 seconds). Most of work has been done. It should not be long to get Rockbox fW. H120 is in demand. If you want to sell it on E-bay. You will recover your cost, pretty much.

Is Rockbox (silly name) worth losing your warranty for or it all screwing up though? It doesn' look like it's worth while IMO.

Thanks btw.
