I’ve had my i5 for a couple of weeks now and really like it a lot; as my nick indicates, I go for audiobooks rather than music. So far I’ve been ripping CD’s to .wma with decent results. Recently, I got a great CD-set of short stories read by various actors (Symphony Space) from the library. That was the good news. Here’s the not-so-good: most of the rest of that series is available only on cassettes!
I plan to record them as .wav files, but I know nothing about converting to other formats after that. Any suggestions on the easiest method to convert .wav’s to .wma, etc.? I’m not real concerned about the lossy aspect here. I’d be mildly disappointed if the end result is somewhat “tinny” (as the highly-compressed, but free, library downloads of Recorded Books are), but I could live with that to listen to these on my player at my leisure, rather than having to finish off the cassettes within the library loan period.
