Greetings. I just found this forum tonight. Great resource!! I just bought a Cowon D2 (4GB Black, firmware is 2.50) and haven't yet installed the software CD that came with it. I assume it's JetShell 4.22 or close to it, as that's what cowonamerica.com says is the latest.

I also have an M3 that still works (although battery life is poor after 3 years of use), and my PC with WinXP still runs the old JetShell that came with the M3, version 3.20 PRO. Should I just uninstall the 3.20 version and install the new 4.xx one that came with the D2, as would make sense if it's backward compatible with the M3 unit? I'd like to be able to use the software with both units if possible. But I understand it wouldn't be a big deal as I could just use Windows Explorer with the M3 if need be, treating it as just another external hard drive. Thanks for your info.

Whoops, just noticed it's more complicated than I thought because the D2 came with both JetAudio VX and JetShell. I don't remember putting anything other than JetShell on my PC when I first set it up for the M3 years ago (all I see is "JetShell for M3" in the Cowon program group, which opens up 3.20 PRO). So now I'm confused. Can I uninstall the old JetShell and install the whole mess from the new D2's CD (JetAudio and JetShell), and it'll work with both units? Now I'm not so sure what version of JetShell it will be since the latest listing of 4.22 on cowonamerica.com site was last updated in Sept 2006. On the CD itself it says JetAudio VX and JetShell, version 2.1. The cowonamerica.com site has a link under "Downloads" that says to "visit here" for D2 users for the JetAudio VX software, and this link then goes to cowonglobal.com where it says I can download "COWON MediaCenter - JetAudio 7.0.2".

Confusing!!!
