for the best video quality... should i convert in jetAudio with:
auto high quality?
or 1.5 mbps?
I'm not familiar with jetAudio (linux/OSX user) so I can only suggest trying various bitrates/quality settings to see what works for you. 1.5 Mbps is overkill though... I usually encode at around 500-600 Kbps (combined) with good results, especially with two pass encoding.

you're right TedJ...
My experiment:
Movie: 300
Source size: 700MB
1.5mbps conversion size: 1.2GB [cry] [wacko] [cursing]
Auto HQ conversion size: 432MB [excited] [yes]
Conversion differences: NONE to my eye
Do you have the TV-Out cable? I'm wondering if it would make a difference on the TV. Oh, and is it longer converting to 1.5mbps?

I have a Tv/out cable. I'll convert with 2 different bitrates (Auto HQ and 1500kbps) and I'll watch on the Tv.
I think in 2 days I write the result. Cause my TV's Scart port is burned and dosn't workin'
I'll try in the one of my friends tv's.
Really not worth it given that this thread's more than a year old, I think.
But if you want to do it anyway, knock yourself out.
