G3 battery life ;-(

the battery that came with my g3 lasted less than 2 days.
That included about 4 hrs of recording from FM (at 128 rate)+ 3 hours of radio listening and another 3 hours of listening to mp3's with the default sound effects on.

Is that normal. I was under impression that i would be able to get at least 20-30 hrs on an alkaline battery.

If thats normal than maybe i should consider getting a rechargeable battery. What are the rechargeables for G3 that people recommend. I need one that would be able to last for at least one day with 2 hrs of recording+3 hours of listening to radio and mp3's.

Battery life, based on forum accounts, seems much better. Try using the player without doing any recording and see how well it performs. Recording might be double or triple the power use of your playback.

Use recharge batts

currently using 2300mah NiMH and they work for days (constant listening)

yeah without recording i get over 30 hrs.
