check out this program ive found online while searching for my album art...it was getting super tedious, so i started to look for something that would do it for me, and behold, i found such a program.

ive already installed and used it, it is virus free.

http://team.thenexusnet.com/nexus/AAA/

if your music is not sorted in such a way that this thing can use it, you might have a few troubles, but there are about 8 different ways that it can read how youve sorted your own music folder, so most people should be able to get it to work.

or, if your like me...put all your music on your SD card via D2 and the D2 will organize it in a way that this thing just man-handles it. its very quick and easy to use, and pretty self explainitory. i loaded ALL of my album art in ilke 15 minutes for my entire library (32 gigs ish).

thats pretty neat, ive most of the time used buy.com just because they have decent high quality album art images. 500x500 i think.

addz- most of the ones i find are in the 300x300 range...which is fine by me because they get resized to 92x92.

rockin- i dont use media monkey =P ill use winamp for the rest of my life xD

Nope on buy they're in general 500 x 500

albumart.org can be good sometimes, but usually they just grab their stuff from amazon.... other than that google images is great...

I prefer manual organisation, total control

addz said "thats pretty neat, ive most of the time used buy.com just because they have decent high quality album art images. 500x500 i think.", and then you replied "addz- most of the ones i find are in the 300x300 range"

yes yes...but this is a silly debate to begin with. let us not let such tiny details detract from the conversation.

i have found this program to be of great use and quite a time saver.

dominic, you might still be interested in it. it doesnt automatically find all the album art and put it in on its own. you do have to go through and pick which one you want (it shows 3 at a time, if you dont like them, you can change your search terms). this merely saves you the time from having to right click, save as, rename, go, find it, place it in the right folder. instead, you just click the album, it shows you 3 album arts that it thinks will match what you want, and you just double click the one you like and it installs it for you. so you do still have COMPLETE control of your album art...it just saves you time.

Oh I know of the programme already, and ones similar to it, but my album art is perfect, no need to mess with it now :)
But I don't think it would save me time as I always check my images to make sure they don't have an annoying white boarder around them, and crop them when needed, its usually amazon images that give me the white boarder.

One thing I will ask, can you get this programme to not only save the image in the albums folder but also in another seperate folder? I back up all of my AA to a seperate folder so I always have an untampered original copy... yes, I'm a perfectionist, sue me :)

i havnt looked into the feature your speaking of, but ill certainly give it a look. give me a few minutes to play with it.

i didnt see it when looking...it doesnt have that much customization that i could see in such a respect.

but what you COULD do is do a search in your music folder (not for each album..your WHOLE music folder) for "jpg gif png bmp" and at that point, it should show all of your images that are in your music folders (aka album art). you then copy that into your back up folder and it will ask you if you want to rename them so that they dont overlap, and there should be a way to set it to number them. it wouldnt be perfect, but it would be functional. also, there might be a way for it to preserve folders, but im not sure of how to do that.

Thanks dude for the info, I have my art stored in the back up by their album titles so they're easier to manage and sort through... thanks for the feedback though dude.

silint: I appreciate this reference, as I have so many digital singles in need of album art tagging. Many of these files were ripped years ago, before I began keeping full albums + covers on the computer . . . when I was still rather vinyl and tape-bound. Certainly before I got a D2 and learned of the value in practicing responsible tagging.

A one-stop interface for pulling these files down is something I'll definitely give a try.
