You guys really need to start advertising the q5 otherwise you are loosing sales to Archos. People on various websites (apart from this one) have never heard of the q5, why? because you choose to keep quiet.

This is crazy you build such a good product in the a2 and d2 but relay on us to spread the word.
Please start to advertise and get some models out to the review sites.

rant over

Uh...you do know nobody maintaining this site works for Cowon...

Perhaps this would be better directed to someplace where Cowon officials had a better chance of seeing it?

I haven't seen iAudio_Bunny posting lately.
I'm not immediately aware of any other Cowon staff reading this site, though it's certainly possible.
And I said there's nobody from Cowon _maintaining_ this site. I obviously can't speak for whether they're reading it.

i'm sure that Cowon isn't too concerned at the moment about gaining a large market presence outside of Korea. they are still behind iRiver and Samsung there. Once they can establish a powerful presence in the area where they are based, THEN they can start advertising and trying to gain some market share elsewhere in the world.

Keeping on topic so the thread isnt moved (how are you doniago[biggrin] )

Koreans I know say that they are avoiding the q5 due to its lack of inbuilt wifi, so you would think the rest of the world is important to them.

AFAIK cowon are not exactly in europe anymore.....There products are imported but there is no "Cowon Europe"

They aren't in Africa, not that there is a market.

That leave Australia, Americas and Asia.

Is there a cowon Australia?

From my limited knowledge of cowon, rather than putting money into advertising the sink it into product development, if they advertised thn who knows maybe there product line would suffer? ultimately losing them money.

Any this is cowons strategy, their choice, their mistake to make...
All the same, I highly doubt some one from cowon will read this and then say to themselves, "Oh my god he's right, why didn't I think of that before, gotta tell the CEO to creat a marketing department" lol

Hmmmmm.....i have ranted about this for years. Cowon is a failing company. They can't gain market share from iRiver? iRiver's product is crap. I had one. Look at their new flash player. Smaller screen than the D2, no expansions and less features. like the iToilet ipod. Lack of marketing is hurting Cowon even in Korea. I would grab what I can guys because they won't be around for long.

it looks like the piqued when the X5 and A2 were still new and the best available. They didn't get anything last year. It'll be interesting to see if the D2 is a saving grace, but I doubt it.

@zaphanathpaneah: the Clix2 is far from crap. from what i've seen, it looks like a great product. attractive interface (subjective), native flash games, 30fps screen, 8gb internal storage, small, light, sleek and stylish (subjective), i've been told it has great sound...it may not be the powerhouse that the D2 is, but that's not to say it's a bad product.

in a desperate attempt to stay on topic...

i agree that cowon needs to advertise, but they need a strategy. rather than deliver these ultimate devices, create a slightly more basic, affordable device that people will buy. get some money in your pocket. then start to advertise, and sell more. after they've generated a decent-sized surplus, THEN they can create these powerhouse devices that may not appeal to all.

Eric

needs to be updated.
the reason why is shy of marketing is becuase its still needs to gain some more attention in its homeland. wait till closer relase date or on the day of for it to get some more eyes on. escially with the famous underdog like compeny producing such a thing. plus Cowon was never really good at marketing anyway. comon guys, how did you all find out about there products? the internet probably. without it, (without us) this compeny would be nonexiestant

then again, who KNOWS what the international verisons gonna be like? could be very different/striped down
