The webaddress (iAUDIOphile) is wicked, makes me most proud :)
Thanks for giving me a home :D
Thank god.
DAPreview is good, but I guess with the number of people accesing it it tends to be quite slow, especially when all the info I'm after is the M3 forum
Big peeps, cheers for setting this up.
Thank Austin - this is really all his work, I just hang around here making FAQs and help people.
bj.. yeah i know DAPreview can be slow. not happy about it either. but we have limited resources. we're going to scale back the DAPreview forums and open more of these little sites instead. that will speed up DAPreview and I like this forum software better anyway. Simple, clean, and fast. I'm a little sick of busy-looking forums like vBulletin even though they have more features.

I'm curious, Austin, since you seem to run DapReview... do you get the mp3 players you get for free or something? I wonder how it all works.
tin: nothing much is really free. I've bought all my players with personal money. We do get product sent to us for review from time to time but those are only loaners. It takes awhile to set up those loaners too so for hot products we usually just buy them to get the scoop as fast as possible. If we don't like, sell them on eBay or wherever. These websites aren't really free either. All that adstuff helps pay for bandwidth and server costs. This site doesn't use up much of our resources but DAPreview takes massive bandwith since it's more graphically-orientated and there's more people online. I actually like this forum software better because it's fast and efficient. It may look oversimplifed if you're used to vBulletin or whatever but it does the job just fine, I think, and it's both uncluttered and easy to use. We could still use a frontpage, etc.. all in good time :)

BTW, when I read about the Induce Act in the US, I already had worry about you, Austin. If this had become reality, maybe you would have had it much harder to get new, uncrippled DAPs. ;)
That's why I asked once at DAPreview. So, nice to hear the intiative had no chance.

Noone has a change of beating us anyway, kool. The DoomsDay Device of Death has been installed on our mountain top of malice already, now we'll just have to wait until they drop off those well-advertised Anglo-saxian armies of armaggedon.
Laughs hysterically. Buhahaha. Induce acts, bite us.
Ouch. that hurt.
