2 newbie Qs: firmware updates and playlists

Hi guys, bought first ever mp3 player and first ever cowon yesterday, 4G i7 in silver.

Firmware updates - is it 'OK' to use the Korean updates? historically have they been the same as the ones which will be eventually published on the global site?

Playlists: the i7 is folder oriented, is this basically what passes for a playlist on the i7? If I want a varied program I have to put everything into a folder and play music from that using random or whatever?

Firmware: Korean is fine.
Playlists: There is one dynamic playlist on the i7. That's it. Your suggestion using random sounds like a good idea.

If you want control over a varied program, put =folders= under /music and in each folder put either some more folders (one per album) or just a heap of tracks. You can play (repeat, or random, or just once through) and folder, or any folder and all the subfolders inside it (or 'all', which is all the music tracks on the device .. probably even outside the /music folder, though I haven't tried yet).

I tend to use things like s:\music\favourites
and
s:\music\new albums\<album1>\<tracks>
s:\music\new albums\<album2>\<tracks>

which lets you play a whole new album, or a random selection of new album tracks from any of the new albums, or of favourite tracks, or a mixture of everything.
