View Full Version : 'Music' browsing mode - broken?

Is it just me / my I7, or is 'music' (i.e. ID3 tag) browsing mode generally broken on the I7. I use .ogg, so it may just be a .ogg problem.

If I am in 'file' (folder) viewing mode, playing a song (.ogg) the artist/album display correctly, from the tag data (I checked by putting the song in a wrong folder, and nope, it really is displaying the tag data, not falling back on the folder names).

Put it in 'music' browse mode (and reboot it), and all the artists / albums (and Genres, and everything else) show as 'unknown'. Even on the 'now playing' screen, suddenly the album and artist are now 'unknown', although they were fine before, and I'm playing the same track.

Do I have to do something special to use music browse mode, or is it broken for .ogg, or is it just broken, period??

Works with my mp3s.

I've got the same browsing problems than GSV3MiaC with my .ogg files. Hope it will be corrected soon, or I'll have to reencode my music to mp3...

Oh good it isn't jsut me then. Searching through here it seems like the I6 had similar problems (not a surprise, but it is a syrprise it isn't fixed yet).

FWIW, all the tag labels are in UPPER CASE (e.g. TITLE=), and the problem persists even if I arrange to lose tags like 'ALBUM ARTIST=', which have been reported to confuse some Cowon players in the past.

Guess it's over to Cowon to turn in a bug report (sorry, 'Q&A' is what they call it, isn't it).
