Hi, everyone.

I recently got an iaudio 7, and I like the player pretty well except for one thing: there's an audible hiss coming through the headphones whenever the backlight is on.

I'm not sure if it's annoying enough to be a huge problem, but I was curious all the same whether or not this could be an issue unique to my specific unit or if it occurs in others as well.

Additionally, I suspect it's not possible, but can this sort of thing be addressed by a firmware update?

Thanks for your help!

No, I have this as well. Occurs on my Sony NW-A3000 as well on quiet passages.

What have you got the volume set to, and what sort of phones are you using?
(Hopefully not the ones which came with the unit).

Well I have the volume set to around 14/15 with my own EQ (similar to the rock/pop setting but lower). I use a pair of sennheiser cx300's which are pretty good so i dont think it would be the headphones.

I keep the volume at around 12 with a flat equalizer and have been using Sennheiser HD595 headphones as well as Shure E4cs. It's not as bad with the open Sennheiser headphones, but it's still audible, unfortunately.

Well it just plain isn't there on my unit (8GB, Uk), using Sennheiser PX100s. Not even with volume up at 40 (and playback stopped, obviously). Unless it is up at frequencies my ears can't hear any more!

GSV I think you might be right. Either that or we have aquired dog-like hearing...

Is this caused by feedback from the LCD display?
