I was checking out some SDHC cards at newegg.com and in the comments for some 8GB SDHC ones, someone says that you can reach 10 MB/s with a 150x non-HC SD card, and only 6MB/s with the Class 6 SDHC ones.
Has anyone heard something like this before?

You have to remember that the write speeds for class 2, 4 and 6 cards are the minimum speed required for that rating. The problem with the speed ratings on standard SD cards is that there was no clear definition of what guaranteed write speed was the 1x benchmark.

This article (http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2007/07/among_many_fast_sdhc_cards_onl.html) over at Gizmodo benchmarked several SDHC cards alongside a high performance 1GB SD card.

I'm quite pleased with that article as I have a couple of those Dane-Elec cards (4gb but class 4) and presumed they'd be down the tables due to their low price - but obviously that's not a good yardstick on performance though.

I have a Sandisk reader too, which figured quite well with the Dane-Elec. That was a handsome £4 or something!
