Anybody who has one have comments on the armband case design? It seems like you wouldn't be able to easily access the buttons on the front of the player with the case closed?
Do you have to take it out of the case to use the front buttons? Or can you just unsnap, open the case, while it's still on your arm, and use the buttons.
Thanks.

i got the armband case for my i7. first off, make sure to updgrade the firmware because the one it came with had problems with skipping tracks and getting caught in a fast forward loop that required hitting reset. hopefully now that i upgraded firmware i won't have that problem.
i set the sensitivity to low because brushes of the i7 near the touch sensitive parts activated them mistakenly. but i did that before i upgraded firmware so maybe i could go back to regular.
as for the case, when snapped shut it leaves the side buttons exposed (volume, power and hold). menu is also exposed but that's not useful unless you're looking at the screen. for me, i keep it in my pocket with the case closed after i find a series of tracks i want. i put it on hold and only sometimes needs to take it off hold to adjust volume. it's easy to open the case and expose the touch keys to make other choices, but certainly not in your pocket.
material is soft slightly fuzzy fake leather. or at least it seems fake. i don't have the armband itself so can't judge for that. i think it should be cheaper than $12.99 though. glad i got it. even if there were a silicon case that left the front parts exposed, they are recessed touch buttons so wouldn't really work well unless fully exposed. noreve also makes a case that looks similar, but i've heard it hard to get the player in and out of.

I would like to see a case to go with an armband that allows easy access to the front of the device without having to unsnap a cover.

Get knitting! Well, slightly more seriously, my wife has run up 'cases' for several bits of kit using the fake suede that is widely available .. that way you can have exactly what you want in terms of colour, attachments, pockets for accessories, etc. etc. May not look =quite= as professional as the real thing, but it's a whole bunch cheaper (apart from the cost of a wife, that is. 8>.)

Any guinea pigs want to see if this will fit?
Internal Dimensions: 3.25" x 1.25" x 0.75"
iAudio 7 Dimensions: 2.9" X 1.3" X 0.7" (1.8oz)
The width is .05 in smaller for the case, but since it's neoprene, I wonder if it will stretch enough.

I will let you in on my experience with the cowon case/armband. I had no problems with it. While you are wearing it on your arm, no, you do not have access to the front controls and unbuttoning it while it is on your arm is a PITA. However, if you set it to use the volume buttons as seek buttons while it is on hold, you can skip tracks without opening it.
Control the volume by turning hold off and using the volume buttons.
Control the track by turning hold on and using the volume buttons as seek buttons.
It was actually one of the few things cowon got right on this player.

WHICH is the Cowon case with the armband for the iAudio 7. When I look on their accessories site, I only see two for the I7, both of which say, "no armband / beltclip".
Thanks.

Hi,
I have this Case Logic case and the Iaudio 7 is indeed slightly to fat for it.
It does fit but you have to push firmly and you can not operate the device when it's in.
I have bought this case:
http://cgi.ebay.nl/GeeBee-Sports-armband-case-black-for-Cowon-iAUDIO-7_W0QQitemZ370029163731QQihZ024QQcategoryZ86539QQt cZphotoQQcmdZViewItem
It's a lot better but still not very good I think, hard to operate the device.
(There is also a pink edition [biggrin])

I spent an hour at BestBuy and CircuitCity with i7 in hand looking at cases with belt clips. I bought two, the first of which was a custom fitting case for the Sansa C200, which was a little snug. It's got the same basic screen / front button configuration as the I7, and I stretched it out a bit, and tried to cut some holes in the side for the Menu and Volume buttons, but that was a waste of $7.00. Still a bit too snug.
The other choice was a Dynex cell phone case (in this case packaged for BestBuy under the brand "Init"). Model number DX-WC102. Very good case for the iAudio7. It's really a cell phone case with nylon front and back and elastic sides, no top flap. The i7 fits in very nicely, perfect height and width, to just fit in, be held securely, but still be easy to get in and out. Can't access the buttons really without lifting it out, but it's very easy to just lift out and adjust and slide back in.
I think this a very good solution and you can use the belt clip to latch it on to Cowon's armband, or any generic armband. Here's a link to a picture.
