How does the SQ of iAudio7 compare to D2?
SQ is among my top criteria, I currently have a D2. Any pros/cons to the D2 vs iAudio 7?
Please don't post multiple copies of the same subject in different forums. Thanks. This is the "remaining copy". Please discuss here.

eXity can you please write a review on the iAudio 7? I am wavering between a D2 and an iAudio 7, and I want to get some more information on the 7 before a make my choice. Thank you so much!!!
I already have 3 pages and 1700 words and I have had the player for only 24 hours, so a review will be coming in the very near future.

That's what they've been saying about the A3, and the X7.

MartinP, thanks for the review of the 7, I was looking forward to that! In your review you compare it to the D2 quite a bit, and so I'm wondering which one you prefer/like better?
I'd also like to hear what anyone else thinks. D2 or iAudio 7? Both of these are on my short list for next player to buy and I'd love to hear some opinions on the relative merits of each.
My thoughts so far:
D2 pros:
- expandable memory
- nice GUI
- touch screen is kinda cool (I like my Nintendo DS for this reason)
D2 cons
- touch screen - will this be hard to use while driving? I use my MP3 player in the car almost exclusively so this could be a deal breaker for me...
iAudio 7 pros:
- smaller (but still kind of thick?)
- longer battery life
- swing-touch looks cool (but I've never used it so I can't be sure)
iAudio 7 cons:
- looks thick. Being purely objective here, but my wife has an iPod Nano and I cannot believe how thin it is. I can put it in my pocket and forget its there... Will the 7 produce a significant bulge?
Oh and I would really like to know how each one handles album art. Specifically: I have all of my MP3s tagged with art (so my wife has them on her Nano), so ideally a player which will read from the tag and display the art would be the best scenario. Does either of these players do this? And where is the art displayed? The one picture I saw of the iAudio 7 with album art showed it in the background, which makes the song text nearly impossible to read. Does it HAVE to be this way, or is there a setting to show the album cover adjacent to to the text in a more traditional way?
Thanks in advance for any feedback, opinions, info etc. For the record, I have an X5 with Rockbox, love it, and I'm looking for a flash-based player for more on the go stuff.

hi Kfrazier,
after long deciding i've chosen the D2. because i kept on thinking rather or not i wanted to watch Movies, Cartoons, Music Videos, Etc. while i'm on the road or just taking a hike somewhere. the expandable memory is a plus for me. though i'm getting the white 4GB model so... i don't need a SD Card at the moment. i have no videos but i have 1.40GB of music on me.
i would assume the D2 would be hard to navigate in the car while driving. just set to Shuffle and repeat. You'll be good. don't want to die do you?
the thickness of the i7 can't be all that thick but having in ones back or front pocket could be the deal of not getting it if thats what your in for.
Album is display in a squared content box for the D2 and for the i7 it's displayed as Background but you can set your own images to be as background but then the Album feature would have to be turned off.

Thanks for the info. So if I am reading this correctly, you chose the D2 because you want to view videos some of the time? Video isn't a deal breaker for me, my X5 plays videos and I've used that feature only a couple of times.
For the iAudio 7 that sucks about the album art though... I don't care for that style. =( *sigh*

well, the D2 would be a good choice. heck, it's only like 8 hours difference on battery life but the battery results will vary of course (based upon JetEffect settings, volume levels, usage on the LCD Screen, Brightness on the screen, etc.
the size of the player is... sizable in ones pocket i'd imagine (but wouldn't count on it).
