Hello, I was looking through here and seaching, but I came up with some mixed results.
The A2's quality some people say when recording off TV (high settings) is "great".
What does great mean? Does it look like a DVD or a ripped DVD video that is put on to your A2?
I'm going to florida, and I know how some hotels have the thing were you can order movies that are brand new (aka still in theatres) and i wanted to record them onto the A2, but if the quality sucks then well, meh.
SNEAKY SNEAKY. [toungue] [thumbsup]
I wouldn't say recorded tv looks nearly as good as a ripped DVD video. It's useable, but there's no way I'd call it 'great' except maybe in comparsion to other tv recorders.

i'm talking a DVD quality TV show. The hotels have DVD quality new movies which i want to record with the A2.
Well...the easiest way to answer this would be to say that you can't record at DVD quality levels, so no, the output won't be DVD quality. That being said, if the source material's really good the output should at least be pretty good...sorry to be so vague, but I don't really know how one could better characterize this (though you can check the A2's recording settings, of course).

well I know that it's only 640x480 1mpbs max. but that seems pretty good to me, does it not? I mean, i'm not going to be calling it HD, i just want the new movies on my HD so i can watch them and they don't look like total crap.

When people say "pretty good" I have virtually no idea what they mean haha.
So could someone characterize the recorded quality from the TV played back on the A2 and the quality of the same file played back onto another TV (using AV) compared to like cable TV (not HD) and VHS?
So like:
VHS<recording played back on another TV<recording played back on A2<cable<DVD
But accurately hehe.
Thanks
