i might be late on pointing this out, but i just caught that iaudio 7 is up on jetmall, even though it's not yet on the cowonamerica site.
it's 169.99 for 4gb, 219.99 for 8gb
http://www.jetmall.net/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=101
course i'm going to order now and it might say i'm on a wait list...

on the detailed description page on jetmall the features list accurately describes the iaudio 7, but the specs list below it is still that of the 6. guess they'll fix that. it definitely says i order the 7 so i'm not worried abou it. i still think it's weird jetmall was updated first but i guess that makes sense. they have to have it up there before they can post it to the cowonamerica site and say it's available. guess someone went home for the weekend before updating the main site...
not sure if 8gb always has to be the red one and 4gb the silver, but i like the red better anyway.
my order seemed to go through fine. i got that 12.99 case. maybe i'll spring for a noreve one later (once noreve specifically says they have an iaudio 7 one - though i bet the iaudio 6 one would work since i think they're the exact same size).
i bet it's going to be on newegg in like 5 minutes for $20 less. but at least on jetmall it's free shipping (for the 3-7 business days option).

I noticed the spec sheet details were detailed for the i6(HD) (but listed as i7) as well but posted them here: http://www.iaudiophile.net/forums/showthread.php?t=15439 anyway as it may just be a typo :)

i'll bet the prices will go down quite a bit within a month. if this sucker gets significantly cheaper than a 4gb D2, i might just get the 8gb i7 instead. i might be in need of a new player, as i may have accidentally bricked my Zune last night.

i'm mp3player-less right now (no other cowons, no nothing - mine busted and i was waiting for the i7). prices may come down and 16gb may be out soon like their site says but i'm pleased with getting the 8gb now (it's more space than i need anyway). buying technology is so crazy because there's always the promise of something newer and better coming soon. i'm just psyched to be getting my first cowon and avoiding the ipod dynasty. plus this sucker's cheaper and better than the 8gb nano so that's my comparison. as a mac user who wanted a flash player, this really seems like my best choice. can't wait to officially join the cowon club!
of course if there's a 16gb i7 on newegg for $99 tomorrow, then ugg.
advancedmp3players have the i7 8gb in stock for £149.99 which is around the same price as the D2 4gb listed at £145.99.
Darn, if the i7 sounds better then i might buy it.

[rolleyes] Like that's ever going to happen ...
Does anyone know if the 8GB version will be released in the black & silver casing?
It's not realistic to think about a 16 gig i7, since the 8 gig is just coming out. This 8 gig device is a breakthrough, in my opinion. Capacity, features, battery life, form factor, aesthetics, it's got it all.

Nope the 8GB version comes in both colours, you just need to buy it some-place other than the USA. I know if does because I am sitting looking at a black/silver one right now.
Oh no , another decision to make.[shocked]

now available on Newegg:
$195 for the 8gb.
But NewEgg has a "no return" policy.[thumbdwn]
How about ChiefValue?
anyone purchased from them?
there got i7 8GB red 195.99, not bad [yes]
I don't see the iAudio 7 listed at ChiefValue, and at JetMall I need to order 25! I placed an order for one at Amazon the other day - they seem to be unavailable at these 2 other sites. Actually, I think the iRiver x20 might be "better" in some ways, since it has not 1 but 2 built-in speakers, an SD card slot, and a 2-inch screen, as opposed to the 1.3 inch of the iAudio 7, but the iAudio 7 has boomarks and fast-fastforwarding and skipping abilities, which I need and which the iRiver x20 lacks (according to the respective pdf user manuals). However, they both have a lovely 8 gig. The iAudio 7 also gets 60 "reported" hours of play time, not something to ignore. These distinctions might be worthwhile for others to consider.[wink]
169,99 for 4GB and 219.99 for 8GB at B&H Photovideo ( www.bhphotovideo.com )

Check this I7 in ChiefValue (http://www.chiefvalue.com/product-_-searchproductlist.cv_-_submit--search&store=&descriptionKey=iaudio)[smile]

Note that the '1 speaker' on the I7 is just there to beep when you press a key, it is NOT a 'speaker' in the sense of something you can play the music through.
I didn't know the i7 had a speaker. But I suppose that the confirmation beeps do imply a speaker.
