Gday. I am writing from Australia. This is such an awesome gadget. Can't wait to get it. Before I go on can anyone provide any sites you know that will ship Internationally to Australia.

One of the important feature to me is the WIFI and how it is used. I am hoping that I can use this to connect to my Wireless Modem and browse the web and more importantly listen to Internet Radio. I know it has HSDPA as well, but dont know exactly what this is. I dont know if this will work in Australia. Anyway please could someone clarify whether WIFI can be used to browse web not just be used for wireless devices such as game controllers.

Assuming that the international model of the Q5 will have built in wifi or use a wifi stick;

yes the wifi can be used to connect to the internet and browse the web.

Im Australian too, re getting them here its a wait and see
Either Minidisc australia will sell them as they did the d2 we can hope as you will get warranty, or its ebay or advancedmp3players in the Uk (arm and leg).

Internet on the go will be via bluetooth and your mobile phone, (you will need a data plan), im sure your modem would work too.

What Mikey says is correct - minidisc.com.au has stocked plenty of Cowon products (D2, A2 iirc) in the past, we can only hope they get their hands on the Q5 as well.

Alternative sites include advancedmp3players.co.uk, ebay, or (depending on your Korean) Korean sites like auction.co.kr (korean version of ebay) or danawa.com (shopping comparison site, a bit like staticice or something here). I generally go back to Korea once a year or so (worked there for a few months and have a Korean gf, so I can speak a bit of Korean), so I tend to pick up my Korean-made products there where possible (not much of a price advantage, but there's always a time advantage and often a feature advantage too :))

As for wi-fi, can't see any reason why it wouldn't work. HSDPA (put very simply) is a way of using the mobile network to browse the internet at a decent speed. Telstra's NextG, 3's X-series etc are all fancy marketing names for HSDPA. Most likely you'll have to connect using Bluetooth to your mobile phone and then use your phone as a modem (very pricey!)

I know this is a Cowon forum, but I should also point out that in Korea the Q5's price is high compared to Korean alternatives like i-Station T43 and Maxian D900. While I'd love to get the Q5 (I have a D2 and love it), I think I'd wait for the price to come down first (and it will have to, Cowon have priced it way out of the market :S) before I get it.

Hope this helps

Just re hspda modem (if included or we have to buy one) we have to make sure its going to work in Australia. The samsung q1 ultra model coming with hspda modem wont work in Australia unfortunalty

As times are passing im giving up on the q5, im going to most likely get a Raon Everun, due in Aust end of this month, sure it will be twice the price of the q5 but ill be able to do so much more, and not have the limits of the q5.

The Everun is a great device, been checking out the reviews for it and it seems fantastic. I just haven't got the funds atm [cry]

Will have to wait until price comes down I think...
