I'm looking for a new player and I want to know if the iAudio 7 is one of the best ones? I'm looking for good sound quality, good build quality, and at least an acceptable GUI.
Will this player be a good choice for me?
I recommend that you read the Cowon iAudio 6 review I wrote - the iAudio 7 is very much similar to the i6. Just take note that the i7 uses flash instead of an 0.85'' HDD and the battery life is much longer. Startup times should also be a lot shorter on the i7, seeing that flash memory has faster random access, because there are no moving parts.

Yeah, I have read it. It seems like iAudio i7 will be the killer device :)
Would I be able to read long texts on the player? And avoid the player to start from the beginning or something like that, as I want to read VERY long texts (5-600 A4 pages)...
Which player is ideal for text/book reading?

Why not read a book?

cause it's not hip!
i still don't understand why the i7 is as thick as it's harddrive counterpart.
No, there is no way in hell you will be able to read a 600 page book on the iAudio 7. If you wanted to do book reading, then I would recommend the A2 or the Q5, but the screen on i7 just won't cut it.
And they didn't make it smaller, because: 1) they are saving on design costs 2) they now have a player with a battery life of 60 hours. Something more impressive in my opinion than "oh, it's only 2 mm thick"
Remember when people used to carry around huge CD players and Walkmans in their pocket?

that's pretty fair. from what i've seen, it's pocketable enough. i'd be afraid to ever own a nano, out of fear of bending it or forgetting it was in a pocket and throwing it in with the laundry, or sitting on it and having a butt-shaped mp3 player.
