before posting any problem the D2 has with SD cards, please make sure you have,

1) formated the card when you gut it, factory format sometimes fails or leaves problems

2) make sure the card is in the correct file system,
a) 0 to 2GB fat15 or fat16
b) 2GB to 4GB FAT 16
c) 4GB to 32GB FAT 32

3) use the correct card reader for your card, SD certified for normal SD cards and SDHC certified reader for a SDHC card, uncertified readers might be using a incomplete specification and might damage your card, if you have a SD certified reader that dosnt support SDHC but amazingly can read and write to them, well, use at own risk,

4) check that the card functions correctly before assuming its the D2īs fault,
use scandisk on it, fill it to the brim and then try to copy all the stuff of it, check that it dosnt have faulty sectors or large speed variatons while reading or writing (use large files to fill the card)

as a final note,
there are alot of memory card manufacturers out there, most of them rebadge mass produced cards, but make sure you buy your cards from a trusted source and that saving 2-3 bucks dosnt ruin your listening expiriance, some no brand cards can have some issues due to not being fully compliant with the Secure Digital standart, make sure you buy from someone who with garantee the cards functions and will provide a decent warranty incase the card fails, and remember, no warranty is valid unless theres someone backing it up, a lifetime warranty is usless if theres no one to claim it to,
