View Full Version : can JA convert from DVD withs subtitles?
thanks alot for any respond
no I don't think it can.
it can only rip audio CD and it doesnt read .ifo and other DVD files.
Right now I 'm trying to convert a DVD to an avi with cucusoft DVD to ipod, if it works, I'll write back.
I recommend Fair Use Wizard and/or DVDDecrypter/AutoGK for DVD conversion.
There's also HandBrake (http://handbrake.m0k.org/) (and, myriad other apps which can natively rip from DVDs to other formats) with support from apps such as DVD43 (http://www.dvd43.com/).
Various methods of DVD ripping and conversion are available - this site (http://www.mrbass.org/) has some quick How-Tos that I've often found to be practical and easy to follow.
I managed to rip my DVD to avi, with xvid codec 320x240, 128 kbps mp3, but I get one big problem. The audio really isnt sync with the video.
Try kawaiiriver_0.17. D2 profile settings: Video:320x240, Bitrate: 500kbps, Audio:192kbps, Framerate:30. I've used many programs for transcoding DVDs with subtitles. In my opinion this is the best so far: Very good audio-video sync, relatively fast (about 2h to convert an entire DVD with the above settings). A whole transcoded DVD movie will take around 550MB of disk space. Good luck!
P.S. Iriver 0.16 is a similar program but with bad audio-video sync and the subtitles do not appear in many movies...
