Hi again,

I'm looking for a good flash based MP3 player with at least 1GB.

the G3 and the ifp999 are quite similar in size and specs (except the battery life that rocks on the G3 and the fact that the ifp999 is not a UMS)

Apart form this, I'm really interested to hear from people who could test both...or people who could test similar type of MP3 player.

I am going to buy a player but I'm not the kind of guy who changes each year, so I want to be sure to choose the best. Just in the case I leave here what I want, so maybe you could advice me...
- Flash based (No HDD), at least 1GB
- works as UMS, or has good transfer app
- Long battery life (at least 20 hours)
- Works with a normal battery (AA or AAA, no lithium stuff I'll have to change next year)
- Can display txt file
- nice (and big if possible) screen (for txt file)

Just to finish on this I checked the CmTech CA-C90 which has very good features with color screen and all the options I want except battery life...does some of you own this device ? what's it worth ?

Thanx again

The G3 has everything but the ability to view text files, AFAIK.
Flash: check. 1GB and 2GB models out.
UMSD: check. I've used my I5 with OS X, SimplyMEPIS, and Windows 2000. The G3 and U3 should be the same.
Long battery life: see threads here. Folks are getting 40+ hours in rechargable AAs.
Big screen: not really. Only four lines, and somewhere around 15 characters wide.
Text files: not to my knowledge.

Also note that it looks like the CA-C90 doesn't have everything you want but battery life, maxing out at 512MB.

If you must have file viewing, I think the iFP-899 (not 999) would be best, but it is still a very small screen.
