Hey guys, Im going to post a few touchscreen games here.[thumbsup]

These games will use the touchscreen feature (ie tap anywhere on the screen) rather than the four-way button configuration!

Some are in Korean in which case I will mark with (K).

I'll post a few fourway control games but I think there's another post that will cover most of these... these i'll mark (4)

ALL TESTED. PACK 5 is rubbish. A few games in there but I uploaded the files before I could test them. Some work.

Once it gets to about 10 packs, I will put them all into one file. R-R has compiled some of the games (packs 1 to 2a) already on the other thread.

Pack 1.

1. Helicopter (click your mouse to keep the helicopter airborne) (good fun!)
2. Kangaroo hangman (hangman but with kangaroo)
3. Block breaker (click where you want the pad to go) (good fun!)
4 Bowman (select angle and power. two or one player) (excellent!)
5. Baseball (you;re a batter. click to swing) (K) (difficult.... [cry] )

http://rapidshare.com/files/34765413/k-1.rar

Pack 2

1. Dungeon Escape (escape from prison by clicking at the right time) (fun)
2. Othello (or reversi) (4)
3. Bingo (4)
4. Megapuzzle (the picture tile puzzle)
5. Squares (move a black square around to eat other black squares) (simple but fun)

http://rapidshare.com/files/34767959/k-2.rar

Pack 2a

1. Scientific calculator
2. Pokemon (4) (K) (if you know korean it works well with the four way controlls and volume buttons)

http://rapidshare.com/files/34782521/k-2a.rar

Pack 3

1-5. Stickman death Swat Chapters 1-5 (5 separate files) (just click where you want to shoot!)

http://rapidshare.com/files/34953568/k3.rar

Pack 4

1-4. Stickman death Crack House Clean up Chapters 1-4 (4 separate files (jus click where you want to hit/shoot/stab)

http://rapidshare.com/files/34954255/k-4.rar

Pack 5

1. Penguin game - slight lag when hitting the penguin but it doesn't affect the timing of the hit. Otherwise works well.
2. Naked melee - a bit slow but works nonetheless. But still have no idea why it's supposed to be fun..
3. Parking Perfection - Doesn't work at all because touch screen is neeeded at the start to click the continue button. After that, the fourway button is required. If only there was a way to get rid of the first page.
4. Add Like Mad - works very well but can be difficult to see the numbers clearly because there are so many tiles.
5. Wrath - you are supposed to be God and you smite pepople randomly with lightening. A bit slow but not very fun in any case
6. Tetris - works well. Very basic. i don't know how it compares to the other one posted.
7. Cards - initially slightly slow but once started, very responsive ie no lag at all.
8. Domino's Tomato - must be a game from the pizza delivery chain. Not bad game, not particularly exciting but works well.
9. Flash element - Don't know why people were getting excitied about this...very premature...can't get this to work.

Pack 5 link (http://rapidshare.com/files/36231389/k-5.rar)

Pack 6.

1. Hamgame - try to see how many times you can get the hamster to run round the track. Cute and quite fun
2. Stopwatch - Fourway controls
3. Darts - Click to adjust height and position. Works well.
4. Chinese Checkers - Touchscreen Chinese Checkers
5. Sudoku - A bit slow. But touchscreen nonetheless! You can select difficulty too.
6. Flash Bowling - A bit slow but works
7. Zoo Keeper - Not as fast as computer but still very fun!
8. Crimson Room - famous game. haven't played it on D2 but i'd imagin screen too small to play this...
9. Fish Tales - Eat fish that are smaller than you to grow. Fun

None of the games from pack 1 work really it is really jerky. Which is a shame as i love that helicopter game i played it all the time on the internet.

they work perfectly on my d2! for the helicopter game you just need to tap the screen when you want the helicopter to move upwards. For block breaker you just tap where you want the pad to go and the pad will go to where you tapped. baseball one you just tap where and when you want to swing the bat. and pretty flawlessly on mine too. just tap and drag to get angle and power

Yeah i do just tap but the is a big delay between when i tap and when the helicopter actually moves, also when the helicopter is moving it sort of starts and stop.

Can anyone write a flash based application that will allow copying of files from the internal memory to a SD card and vice versa ? Is this possible ?

All the games of all the packs worked fine..though it was a little bit annoying that sometimes the games were "slow"

its probably bcause the D2 flash player is unoptimized?!?!? i dont see another reason for the FlashGames slowing down cause D2 has a great piece of hardware

Can anyone write a flash based application that will allow copying of files from the internal memory to a SD card and vice versa ? Is this possible ?

I think that is not possible unless someone knows how the internal player copy/paste functions works....

That would be awesome!
If they can save file to disk with a path, there probably is a way (but i never toyed around with flash ...[blush] )

Let's hope that Cowon will optimise the firmware so the D2 can get a little more out of some of the taxing games.

all the games i've posted and will post are from a korean D2 community. I've been away for several days and so haven't had time to download, check and upload the games. Looks like in the few days i've been away about a hundred more games have been posted there...i doubt that i will get through most of these but will try to post highlights!

some untested games:

Pack 5

1. Penguin smacking yeti game...the original yeti sport? (see how far you can hit a penguin... (fun)

2. naked melee - click as much as you can in a few seconds and watch your little dudes fight. (dunno wot this is about...)

3. Parking perfection. - try to park your car. works well on computer but not sure how it will translate to d2. (4-way keys)

4. Add Like Mad - Adding game. grid of numbers and add to the requested number fast as possible. you have to try to use up all the tiles

5. Wrath or something...- kill random people for fun. ?

6. Tetris - very basic

7. Cards - find same cards.

8. Tomato - uh...try to swuash the tomato by tipping over the right domino...?

9. Flash Element - everyone at the korean boards are going crazy over this one..you have to build stuff i think.

sorry about the rubbish descriptions but i want to sleep, can't be bothered writing proper explanations.

I will test these tomorrow and see how they work.

Just select the free version, then on the next page select the server you want to download the file from and type in the image text and click to download.

I can't believe how much Cowon rocks! I really considered buying the iriver clix because of the flash support. But now I'm just glad I got the D2. I am so making some games for this player (or at least adapt some existing ones)! Any wishes or ideas what type of game probably works well with the given interface?

Chrieg,

I'd really like to see some solitaire card games adapted for the D2...Something with a simple look like the Clix Freecell game, but adapted for the D2 touchscreen.

Solitaire suggestions:

Klondike, Freecell, Spider, Canfield, Golf, Pyramid.....there's lots all over the web, but the graphics for all the flash solitaire games I've found are too refined and break down when translated to the small screen. Would like to see some with simplified graphics like the Clix Freecell.

That would be great.

Bejeweld r0x!

yeah, bejeweled is great! is there a D2-Version? I just finished optimizing a similar game for the D2 (http://people.ee.ethz.ch/msteven/jewels.zip). I adjusted the resolution and took some animations out to make it run smoother. I also added a sound-off button put the menu to the left so you don't cover it with your hand while playing, and changed the graphics a little bit. It's not perfect but it's fun and I noticed that you can even play it with your finger instead of the stylus.

btw thanks for the link to the russian collection!

@kayge: thx for the suggestions. maybe I can do one of those games if I find the time.

Is it possible to get te real bejeweled on my D2? I figured out how to get Bejeweled to work offline (the flash application needs an xml file). I copied both the swf and the xml file to my D2. First the game works, but after te loading screen no jewels appear. Anyone knows how to fix this? Real bejeweled would be awesome! :D

Chrieg

I have tried exactly the same thing and it didn't work either. Maybe the flashplayer of the D2 has problems with the XMLObject. The solution to this would probably be to put all the data from the XML-file into normal variables. But that would be an awful lot of work. But I will keep trying because this game is really awesome indeed! [biggrin] And of course I will tell you if I can make it work.

Here's Viridian Room, a sequel to Crimson Room. It's a classic of point'n'click room escape games. Both games are playable and D2's screen is big enough for them. Now Clix owners can only be jealous we can play so many mouse controlled titles :P
