d2 not reading many id3 tags

Basically for about 1/4 of my library, my D2 won't read the id3 tags. The tags are all perfectly fine and read no problem by PC media players and my other mp3 player an iriver h10. As an example one album I bought off emusic (so it was all originally tagged the same way) the d2 will only read the tags for track 1, tracks 2-16 show up as ???? ???? (other than the file name itself which is correct) if i view the tags on my computer they're all fine and filled out the same, id3v1 and v2. Anyone know what could be causing this?

Try changing your firmware or reinstalling it

Strange then, my D2 (2.46) reads id3.2.4 utf-8 like a charm.
