You'd think by 2.46, Cowon would have fixed the problem with selecting files in folder view. I'm not sure what causes it, but occasionally, when I select one song, another starts playing.

It's typically one of the first songs on the player.

Anyone else still having this problem? I reverted to 2.20 again last night because of it.

Nope never had that problem, I've used 2.20, 2.21, 2.41 and now 2.46.

I have this problem all the time, it's my #1 complaint about the D2, just after the crappy shuffle function. The 2.20/2.21 firmware was the last version that was actually fit to be released. Folder browsing worked flawlessly, the shuffle was fine, and life was good. Then we start getting newer firmwares with new features and new bugs, and these bugs are still here 3 or 4 firmware versions later. It's inexcusable.

A similar thing happens if you bookmark tracks then try to play them by opening the bookmark - you're lucky if it works 3 times out of 10. Ridiculous.

I would go back to 2.21 in an instant if I could still use my SDHC card, but I can't, so I'm stuck with the newer versions.

YEs same problem here, always the first song of the player (alphabetically first but numbered the last one) starts playing. This doesn't happen always but still annoying.

I had this problem with a previous firmware version (3.41 or its beta i think) This problem went away for me when i upgraded to 3.45b i think. On 3.46 now and it seems ok.

I did have a similar problem with songs in certain folders (usually again later ones) just not showing up at all (in the file browser or tag browser). This still occured as recently as 3.45b. I discovered that removing the few thousand photos i had on the device fixed this problem. Not sure if it's related to the number of files on the device or what. I've got about 2500 ogg tracks and little else now, and it works fine (shuffle still sucks though!)

Has anyone tried emailing Cowon about this bug? It's ridiculous that it still isn't fixed. Coupled with the poorly implemented Music Library, lack of playlists, and poor shuffle, it's hardly suitable for playing music. >.>

I have a similar problem, when i try to play on D2_EXT, i was unable to select properly the video or music folder. I realize that i have folders with the same name betwen internal D2 and external card (same video/music root folder name) And when i rename root folder on D2_ext with different name (eg. song and clip), the problem gone away.

I will try this.
edit : My root folders don't match with D2 internal memory but still problems exists.

My folders on my SDHC card are named Music and Video and I do not have the problem.

I have a folder on the internal flash named Books also.

The Music folder on my SDHC has 76 folders and 1274 files.

The Video folder has 2 folders and 18 files.

The Books folder on the internal memory has 89 Folders and 1466 files.

I only use the folder mode.

I only use shuffle with DPL or when playing songs in a single folder and have not noticed any problems...Playing same song twice or playing song from another folder.

Definitely the problem mentioned by OP doesnt affect all. I use only folder mode to play music and have never had this problem. I've been using it for 3 weeks now and I am on 2.46.
Must be quite annoying though...to have a bug and it being inconsistent...meaning Cowon programmers will have more trouble to fix it as they cannot replicate it. I know how it feels as I am also a programmer.
