How did you brick your d2? D2 newbies might be interested to avoid problems by learning from others.

Describe the procedure in detail and show in which fase the D2 started to act weird.

I'm afraid that this is not true for all cases. From my experience Folder 0 appears to have the format flash function. Going from certain releases to others, using the content of folder 0 (formatting) is not required. (It is even "badly" documented in the Cowon Global web site) I have not experienced any bugs (outside the ones already identified for 2.46) after I updated my D2 from 2.45b to 2.46 without using folder 0. I put the content of folder 1 and 2 in the root power cycled the D2 and was back in business without loosing the media content of my almost full 4GB D2 with 8GB SDHC. I lost my custom settings, but nothing else.

Yeah I think you only need to use folder 0 if you're regressing in the firmware, or switching between the 1.xx, 2.xx or 3.xx firmwares....?
Actually, maybe not...I'm sure when 2.41 came out, I had trouble with it, and couldn't upgrade from 2.21 without using folder 0... Can anyone clarify?
