I've been waiting to install the latest finished version of firmware on my 4GB D2. I didn't trust the beta versions, so I waited for 2.46. It installed flawlessly. It didn't destroy my music, and I was estatic. I was browsing features, and setting my defaults, when the phone rang. I answered it, and when I came back to my D2 it had powered off. Now, I cannot turn it back on. No display at all. I tried charging it, no luck. When I connect it to my PC, it isn't recognized as a drive. I get a message saying Windows has detected new hardware, but it goes no further. It's simply a paperweight. Guess I'll be calling Cowon tomorrow. Anyone else have a problem after the 2.46 upgrade?

I've been through the same. The Danish distributor told me to try and recharge it fully (even though it didn't show as charging). So I left it overnight and next morning I could turn it back on again. Hope it's any help!! Good luck!

i gues that you've upgraded without the '0' folder? i did 3 FW upgrades last week (3.45b->3.45->2.46->3.46) and everything works. i'd suggest using all three folders of the FW. copying 2gb of files to disk doesn't take tool long.

D2 switches into recovery mode if you press +, - or 'M' key and at the same time flick the power switch. In the recovery mode the screen remains blank and if you connect D2 to PC it is recognised as a new USB device not as a drive. hope you have not accidentally put D2 into recovery mode.

To switch back to normal mode, just push the reset switch and then power on D2. Hope you had not filled your entire internal drive to the max.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions, especially mymandarin123. Your suggestion was right on target. I tried the reset switch and it powered up. I guess I was so frustrated, I totally forgot it had one. The contents were all screwed up (missing names and such) but I just flashed it again and included the file from folder 0. After copying my ogg files over everything works great! WHAT A RELIEF! Thanks again.[biggrin]
