Hi, when I try to use the 1.20e firmware upgrade for the G3, I get a -6003 error, "Setup has experienced an error" message. None of the suggested remedy's seem to work. What to do? The G3 was plugged into the pc.

You get the same error with 1.16e, and 1.25b.

Before that, when I plugged the G3 into the pc, it showed up as a removable drive (H:), but said that "The disk in drive H: is not formatted. Do you want to format it now". jetshell also could not find the device when it was plugged in.

So I clicked yes, and reformatted. This made the G3 readable and writeable by windows again, and by jetshell too.

Then I made a folder called MUSIC, and put 3 files in, a DRMless wma, an mp3 and an ogg. The player crashes when tryign to play the ogg.

the firmware still gives the same -6003 error message.

Any ideas?

Cheers!

I managed something in the end.

If you expand the firmware archive, like you're meant to, you have several folders and files, inlucind the setup.exe file, which gave the error message.

If you copy all the binary files in to the Programs folder, then use the stupdaterapp.exe file, something will happen. It will say its updating the firmware, and it will finish, and the player will play (wma, mp3, ogg, although not a DRM wma).
