The M3 remote is compatable, (I think the X5 remote is the exact same design) so you can use the same remote if you have one, or buy the M3 remote wherever they sell them. That's all I know. And what do you mean by cable? The device comes with a USB cable, line in cable, and a USB on the go cable.

from my experience of using M3's remote for about a year, I don't think I would miss using the remote.. but that's just me

I meant CRADLE - should have checked !
But still - I'd like to know where, who, and how much.
But I am still hugely doubtful on the price - early signs seem to have it ridiculously overpriced. I refuse to pay almost £300 for an M3L 30gb without cradle or remote. I may well try out getting suntec to send it to a friend who'll send it onto me possibly. But I keep thinking about the Sony nw-hd5 and saving perhaps £75.....I hope I'm wrong on the price, but early signs seem to say I'm not and so....
