View Full Version : D2 can't handle files with lengths of 5+ hours?
I listen to a lot of club music - trance house etc. Well, I just downloaded a 7 hour set the other day...
1. File is about 600mbs
2. Confirmed that the file size is the same on the memory card
When I play the mp3, D2 only recognizes the first hour and cuts off. I've been able to play other mp3s with lengths of 2-3 hours np, though. Anyone else experience this bug?

Have you noticed that it is not possible to use the progress bar search after 2 hour and approx 7 min yet? You can however still use the fastfoward button.
I havenīt tried any longer files then 3 hour plus a couple of minutes and that worked fine.
I will try to load a longer file later and report back here if it works or not.
it works on the files recorded from the radio. tested on a 3h wma

Not this exact instance, but I've had some long (several hour) .ogg files where my iRiver T10 would only play the first part. Re-encoding them with a different encoder solved the problem, as did converting hem to .wma. I guess the 'length' field got corrupted or misread when it overflowed some number of bits.
So .. try a different recorder / format? (and turn in a firmware bug report too). Problem with this sort of bug is that the files which demonstrate it are way huge for uploading to forums or emailing to Korea ...
