New firmware for new D2?

Im getting a D2 next week and i donno if i should put the latest released firmware on it right away. What do you think? I need some help...

But yes of course :) newest firmware solves lots of issues, and adds some others. You can read about both lines around this forum.

Thats the first thing you should do is upgrade the firmware as sigmax said

The normal advice with firmware is 'if it ain't broke don't mess with it' (because you may break it!!) however seems like the D2 firmware IS broke, to where anyone is going to notice it real fast.

Given that, then yeah, would be a good idea to upgrade it to 3.00 straight away. Sadly Cowon have only released up as far as 2.46 so far so that'll have to do for now. 8>.

p.s. so does anyone (else) wonder just how bad 1.00 might have been??

first branch 1.xx, 2.xx and 3.xx are for different version of the D2, let's not confuse our new member... and 2nd i don't get what all the complains are about.
This device works great overall and there is too much nitpicking and time lost from people who expect a ferrari from a <200$ player that already does way more than most...

Im not even upgrading to 2.46 as the d2 does all I need, when i bought it I didnt even expect sdhc support

Ok, for '3.00' read '2.99'. But as far as I can see the device still has several bugs, which by 'release 46' (not counting betas) ought have been stomped. Not talking about missing 'Ferrari' features, just VW Golf features that are there but don't quite work right.

So I just got my D2 today (its my birthday[yes] ) and I dont know what firmware I have to put on it now. Please help me and what else should I do so that my D2 just works fine?
