I wanna buy either an A3 30gig or a 60gig A3... but the problem is, I can't wait for the A3 60gig (or the Q5 for that matter :(). So I might buy an A2 Though there is one thing that I wanna know first.

The USB host feature on the A2, does it support something like a Memory card reader in which you can insert SD cards for instance? And can you use that as extra storage? If not, does the A3 support that? (Because I saw this cuddly little USB stick which uses memory cards as memory... tiny and high in capacity with my 8GB SDHC card :D. And then I can connect USB flash drives as well...)

Thanks...

The USB OTG port on the A2 works with some devices and not with others. However, it only allows you to copy from the attached device and NOT to it. It's somewhat limited really. Interesting feature, but only of real use for jpg files (for example) coming off of a camera or some such. I'm surprised at how few devices actually work with it.

Nobody knows what kinds of features the A3 will have. Remember that 30G is a lot more than 8G (the largest relatively affordable flash... some might argue that 4G is the only affordable size).

For the record. My Corsair Flash Voyager doesn't work with it (though it appears to connect)... my Creative Vision works, but since the USB storage area of the Vision is separate from the media (MTP) area, it's of limited use, my Olympus 5050 camera doesn't work with it (errors on connect). So... for me... eh... it's not that great of a feature.

Oh... thanks and ... darn...

I was hoping they would've expanded that compatibility with firmware updates :(.

Let's hope they imrpove that feature in the A3 then...

And just fyi... all of those devices I mention work just fine with Linux (even Linux made during the same time as the A2). If that's interesting.
