Does anybody know what you'll actually be getting if you preorder an X5 from SunTec? You click on the link and it says 40GB, you get to the actual page and it says 20GB/30GB, exactly what model do you think it is that you get for your $299.99? I've tried contacting SunTec on several occasions over the last 2 weeks but no reply, i've heard they're busy moving so if anybody can shed some light on what you get...
for 299.99 you will probably get the x5 20 gb.
i thought there wasn't coming an 40 gb. model.
only 20, 30 and 60 gb models.
but i don't know it for sure.

do you recon it's worth waiting for it instead of an M3? I'n not really worried about the limited video playback as i've got a PSP. The M3 is a £%$%%£(%)$ing $470 where I live in the UK, similar prices in Europe and I hear SunTec won't ship to Europe now so they can make double money out of us.
There is no 40 GB version. The page they have up now is a preview/placeholder, I wouldn't order off it yet. The X5 will be out very soon (within a month) but will be pricey in europe just like everything else.

I spoke to Stephanie about a week ago. The 299.99 USD price is set for the 20 GB model. She was not yet sure about the 30 GB model, but she told me to expect that to be in the mid 300 to 400 USD range. She also informed me that pre-orders for the X5 model will open during the last week of April.

Hi all, I've been lurking in these forums for a while now waiting for the first glimmers of the X5 to appear. I was wondering what sort of discount suntec offers iAudiophile members? I'm in Australia and it seems like its a bit of a mission to try and get the X5 over here (so it seems almost anywhere outside Korea or Germany). Suntec only ship to the US and Canada unfortunately however there are a few websites that will offer to forward parcels onto you outside of the US. But they aint what I'd call cheap and you're probably looking at an extra $50 US for the facility. I am wondering how much the "iAudiophile-SunTec" discount code gives us to offset this cost...
Otherwise I might be waiting around until I can find a website that has the X5 for a reasonable price and will ship internationally.

if you have any friends that are in the US, have them buy it, and ship it to you?

I think the 30GB oe from Suntec + their postage + the postage of the friend (plus charge risk of getting caught at customs) is getting close to how much you're gonna have to pay for the UK one at PCIHO.com so I have no idea.

I'm sure customs would still stop it and charge you, no?

I'm currently looking at the different international mail forwarding places that can do this for you. The best price I have seen so far will probably be around $50 US (7-10 days) to $70 (3-5 days) based on my own calculations. Most places will slap you with at least $30 worth of fees even before they will mail you anything. The advantage is that if your country has some sort of tax on import items these guys can just label it a gift from a friend in the US.
check out this place:

Whether or not this ends up being worth it yet I don't know...

Don't most ports inthe world now scan all packages coming into the country now? I saw something on the news about that. Post 9/11 pandamonium has caused all countries on the map and those not on the map to tighten security thus why they xray all bags in and off the boat or plane.
