A letter from a representative from Cowon Korea tells that Korean firmwares will not support the MTP mode due to licensing problems. However, this feature will still be supported in the international firmwares.

Just a reminder to those wondering why MTP was removed in the new beta firmware. Got this from Korean Cowon board.

Thanks for this info dude. Hopefully they will provide an easier way to put playlists into the D2 instead. I won't miss it if they do that.

I would be very upset if Cowon discontinued MTP support for markets outside of Korea.

I use subscription music and without MTP I would not be able to use my subscription service. I also know from other postings on this board that there are many others using subscription music services.

Depends on your perspective. I hope future firmware releases are able to meet all D2 owners needs...not trade-off functionality.

Ah...I didn't know you needed MTP for subscription music....well in that case, they better not remove it!
