Here is my very brief review of the eBay silicone case after a couple days of use. I have yet to find a better replacement armband to compliment this silicone case.

http://www.iaudiophile.net/forums/showpost.php?p=123454&postcount=4

I bought mine from accessoriescity a powerseller from eBay for $9.95. I guess I bought at the high end of the market as it is now only $6.95. Btw, this vendor shipped real fast. I got it in two days.

I'm also waiting to see if the folks from zCover will release a silicone case for the D2. They said that they were working on it. They make the ones that are sold by jetmall for the A2 and X5.

The white case actually looks quite sleek, lot better than how it looks on eBay.
Has anyone got pics of the D2 sitting inside the black silicone case?

thanks

On eBay it looks like there are 2 sellers selling the D2 silicone case. One includes a neck strap and the other doesn't. Does anyone know if the CASES are the same?

I have ordered several silicone cases from accessoriescity on ebay in the past. The dealer has proven reliable (successfully exchanged a faulty AV out cable for my Zen Vision M), quick to communicate and fast to ship.

The silicone cases for my Zen Vision M were pretty good, though some arrived somewhat dusty - however, that's easily fixed.

I bought a clear silicone case for my black Cowon D2 recently. Service was just as good as before, but I found that the openings in the case could have been cut more precisely - there was silicone residue apparent along the sides of the main slot for the screen. I have managed to pull this residue out, literally "string" by "string", and the slot is now far "sharper" than it was when delivered.

These minor quality issues aside, the case is an excellent fit for the D2 and feels good in the hand. For those worried about dust, well, you can simply blow it away - the case is not as sticky as some may fear. Also, have taken two long power walks with the case attached to an armband and it serves that purpose quite well, too.

Am contemplating getting a black silicone case too, but would love to see some high quality images from someone who's already done so first.

Heh I don't know about you guys, but that case actually looks a bit ugly and takes away from the whole sleek look of the D2 itself...Sure you'll get protection, but if you like looking at how sweet your gadgets are, no pun intended, then why would you get that?!? :P

Thanks for the pics[thumbsup]. I didn't realize how much dust would collect on the skin[sad]. I might go for a leather case instead now.

I bought one of these off eBay. Fast shipment. I have dust problems as well. I read in a forum once that with repeated washings with dish soap, the silicone will lose it's ability to attract dust. Sorry cannot find the link to that forum.

I just had a close look at the grey silicone case on my H340 and there is no dust on the front and sides, just a very little bit on the back that would not be noticeable if you aren't looking for it. I think it might be th colour and quality of the skin that makes a big difference in how much dust is attracted/visible on the case. I bought my case from www.i-nique.com.

My croo skin for the sansa is also dust free, and it's black and half a year old (at least). the d2 skin is brand new

Ok so it must just be that the quality of silicone on those ebay cases isn't too good.

Sorry cannot find the link to that forum. Can anyone confirm whether or not this is true? It'd be a pretty cool tip for everyone who owns one of these cases.

Also, does anyone know if the Zcover cases also attract dust like this?

Yes, it's true... Cheaper silicone cases are dust magnets because they haven't been thoroughly cleaned after manufacturing, so they have lubricant (stops 'em sticking to the moulds) residue on them. A couple of washes usually fixes this.

The Zcovers don't have this problem, based on the images I've seen.
