Hey everyone,
This is my first post here and I have been reading many of the posts about the D2 and finally decided to buy one. I just got mine today and I downloaded 2.41 and put it into the root directory as instructed but my 8gb card is not being recognized by the D2 or by my comp when the card is in my D2. Can someone help me out? Thanks

Good day and welcome. What brand card are you using?

A-DATA 8GB Secure Digital High-Capacity(SDHC) Flash Card Model Super SDHC 8G
I thought maybe the problem was that I needed to format the SD card. When I put it in my comp it recognizes it and the prompts me to format it. But when I hit "yes", it says "there is no disk in drive f". [cursing] Anyone ever come across a problem like this before?

Did you actually go through the entire process of updating your firmware? Does your D2 when turned on say 2.41 at the bottom...or alternatively if you go to settings -> Information it should tell you the firmware version there. If it doesn't then you did not update the firmware correctly and should go to the cowon website and follow instructions from there. That may be why your D2 can't read the 8GG SD card yet.

It says 2.41 when I power on and in the information folder. [help]

So I think I may need to buy a card reader for my laptop to recognize it. But shouldn't my D2 recognize SDHC cards?? Shouldn't I be able to insert the card into the D2 then connect the D2 to my laptop and drag and drop tracks into the card while it is in the D2??

8gb Adata class 2 SDHC card
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AData 8gb class 2 SDHC card
from newegg for around 60 dollars including shipping.
took over an hour to transfer music.
D2 did not recognize anything.
Even the original music i had inside the d2 could not be seen.
firmware:2.41b
[EDIT]
After flashing to the final version of 2.41, everything is working great!
The only problem is it is slow to get data onto the card and it takes longer to boot the player.
Here is something I found. This is the same card I have. I guess I need to re-install 2.41.

Hmmm. Did you install the beta version of 2.41 or the non-beta version? The beta version is tagged 2.41b and the non-beta version 2.41. Make sure you installed the non-beta version on your D2. Also make sure your SD card in "not" in your player when you do.
For some reason www.cowonamerica.com only has the 2.41b version up on their website. To get the non-beta version you have to go to www.cowonglobal.com and download from there.
