Hi all, just got myself a D2 recently and it's been great so far :).

One issue though when using firmware 3.41, is that while playing music for a while the player will just freeze up itself and you can't do anything, then it will shut itself off and then you can turn it on and use it again.

Does anyone seem to have this issue or have come across something similar? (I believe it happens for video playback also).

It's never done that for me... :/

what format are your music files as i have heard somewhere someone having problems with .wma files.

They're all in .mp3 format..

I've got two separate playlists; english and asian.

I can play the asian playlist continuously without any hassles and there are no freeze ups. But the freezing only occurs for the english playlist, but I'm thinking it's a particular song that it may not like? I don't see how that could be the case though.. not sure.

hey i had this problem but with a video file that turned out to be faulty. it might be the case that you have an mp3 file that is corrupt and the D2 freezes when it tries to access it.

you're right, it is a faulty .mp3 file. i tested it out today and it was just the one particular song. the thing is i've had that same song on my ipod and it played it fine?

wierd [confused]

maybe there's DRM on it restricting it to one mp3 player...?

That could be a possibility.. but I've also found that one of my other english songs will "freeze" or pause for about 1 second before actually playing, whereas the other songs start instantly.
