I'll be getting my Cowon D2 tomorrow along with some accessories. My concern is if it's possible of bricking it while flashing it's firmware. If so, is it possible to recover?
I think any device is possible of bricking while updating firmware. The odds are usually pretty small, but they're still there.
Dont be to concerned these devices are made for firmware updates, as long as you follow the instructions you will be ok, I went from 2.21 to 3.41b, to 2.21b to 2.21 and now to 3.41 and had no problems[unsure] [laugh]
i kind of like the multi step to flashing, it makes it more fool proof, meaning that the first part is really fast, so very little chance of screw up, and the others take time but i think you could always place the files again on the device? it would be nice to know... i believe that if you got the first file flashed fine then you can redo the rest
i don't know if you guys read my post in troubles section, but i bricked my d2 and there was no way to bring it back...follow the firmware upgrade carefully, i would suggest reading at least a few posts on how to do it before attempting it. Unless cowon releases the service driver to the public there is no way to bring it back.
