Alrighty, my X5L shat the bed a while ago and I've got renewed interest in reviving it (minimal attempts when it occured)
Heres the story: It was last fall, and my X5L was working fine (if you accept a cracked screen and partially broken joystick as being "fine"), dual booting between rockbox and stock firmware (as it had been for months with no changes). One day, i left it in the car for a few days before bringing it in. I finally brought it in and left it in my room for a good month or longer without use. When i finally tried turning it on (figuring it would work), it didn't at all. Did nothing, regardless of how the power switch was held (brief or long), so i plugged it in to try and charge it. When I attempt to charge it, the screen cycles between black, a flash of white, and the charging screen, which looks to me like it's cycling through a boot process. hooking up USB doesn't make a difference, and USB alone does nothing. It still has exactly these symptoms today.
Any guesses? It was the fall, so no extreme temps were experienced, that much I'm sure of.
