View Full Version : Bookmarks disappearing
I've got a text file and I place bookmarks every so often as I read through it.
A couple of times they have disappeared.
I'm trying to work out if something else triggers it. For example, I might have deleted an audio and video bookmark in the meantime. I will also delete the previous text bookmark as I go. I don't think I have selected delete all.
Anyone had problems with bookmarks disappearing, specifically in my case for a text file?
Deleting a file seems to do it.
Just had 2 bookmarks, 1 for video and 1 for a text file.
I then deleted a video (different to the one that had a bookmark) from the external card using the D2 delete option.
All bookmarks had gone afterwards.

Man that would suck. I need to look and see if mine does this.
Workaround is to delete from the PC.
The same thing happens to the play list...
If you delete a ny file on the D2 the play list will be gone too...
Another one for the firmware list then.

Deleting a file seems to do it.
This just sounds like common sense. I mean, if you delete a file, why would your bookmark still be there? (At least, this is how a couple of manuals I have explain bookmarking/deleting files.)
Are there some players that don't function this way, where you can delete a file, yet the bookmark remains?
You've not read the posts.
Why would my text file bookmark disappear when I delete a video?
Deleting a video (in my example) seems to delete all bookmarks (video + text + music), and the playlist.

Okay. That's odd. [confused]
we all had same problem with our U3's (over in the u3 forum).
i wrote to cowon by email and they semi-fixed it in the next firmware.
i suggest you do the same.
now, with the u3, if you have 6 different bookmarks for 6 different files (for example) and you delete a file which happens to correspond with the 3rd bookmark, then all the later bookmarks still disappear leaving the 2 bookmarks that were above the third.
ie. a workaround is to first delete the bookmark of the file you are about to delete and then delete the file itself - unless its the last bookmark in the list.
please let me know if you understood all this...
and if it is the same with the D2.
