hi all, i've just bought a 4gb d2 arrives tomorrow, this is my first mp3 player and i was wondering if when i get the player should i format it first [smile]

nope - it's ready to go, in fact, mine was fully charged

you may want to update the firmware though - and include the text fix
works great

read throught the sticky post. the fix makes the d2 text a little bigger - and much easier to read

Hi, do not format.. You will lose some importent files that way...

Anyway, congrats...
