I have recently purchased an A2 and like a lot of people I am having troubles recording from tv and DVD.
I have followed the instructions provided including;
-upgraded to firmware 1.85
-Connecting the AV cable provided from my A2 (av in) to my Tv (av out)
-Changed my Tv format to PAL (as i am in australia)
- selected record; video; start record
While i can get both sound and video, both are very distorted with the video quality very poor with discolouration and flickering lines like a poor tv reception and the audio creates a lot of static noise. This also occurs when recording straight from DVD.
I have noticed when recording, that if i toggle with the AV in plug i can change the reception to a point where i have crisp audio, but no video. However unfortunately the playback does not show the video. Could this mean that it is my AV cable is faulty?
Secondly, while i reside in australia, i purchased my A2 over the internet from England. Could this have something to do with my problems, is there some kind of configuration issue that is causing the problem. Additonally the system language is set to Europe (ISO8859-1)
I'm not a tech minded person so i'd appreciate responses that do not contain too much IT talk.
