I've been using the D2 for a while and apart from the databasing problem which I encountered I have a major problem with the transfer rate, which sucks compared to my other players. The D2 is nearly half the speed of the Nano for example.
Is there a way to improve it?
It must be your particular one as mine does a typical cd in 10 seconds, maybe rma if your not happy?

Yeah maybe. I'm still testing it.

I haven't noticed any problems BUT I haven't put anything on the SD card yet - maybe thats the problem? If the write speed is less than the typical transfer speed then it would be slower. Plus, I only have USB1.1 so it's slow whatever!
SD card writing seems quite a bit slower than internal memory.

Thanks for the comments guys. I've figured it out and it's not actually a transfer speed issue as such but related to the file system problems which I related in another thread (http://www.iaudiophile.net/forums/showthread.php?p=113330).
The problem is that I didn't realise the files to be synced had already been synced but that the D2 was suffering from the problem I related in that thread - and the apparent transfer speed then went down to a crawl.
When I'm not suffering from that problem, transfer speed to the internal memory is OK - although it's still not as fast as the iRiver or the Apple.
