Got a D2 4GB yesterday. Questions? Shoot!

I got my shiny new D2 4 Gig today as well (was expecting it on Friday so its a nice suprise getting it today !)

Got it for $179.99 including a "free" 4 Gig SD Card

Is there any patches or tweaks I can download and play with ? - I have the latest firmware I was just wondering what I can do to get the best out of my shiny new toy

I cant comment on APE support - havent tried it yet.

Is the D2's sound quality better than U3's?

I'm looking for the best flash-based mp3 player available -- sound quality is my top priority.

Any other brands or models I should be considering? Thank you!

I actually had the choise of buying the Noreve-case from the same shop, but I chose not to because of

1: It's doesnt have a magnetic closure mechanism, only a snap button closure, which I think would get tiresome to handle, since I access the interface quite often.

2: It's thickness. The case seems TOO padded, which I think would defy the purpose af a small handy plash-player. The Cowon Case seems to be slightly thinner.

3: Too many cutouts.

I hope that the future support for SDHC card and a magically quick apperance of affordable 32GB cards on the market will make the non-existing sd-card holder on my case a moot point. :-)

I haven't tried the U3, but compared to my old mp3-players, this one i definitely LOUDER, which I'm afraid the sound-to-noise-ratio suffers from. I.E. theres some white noise when a track has silent passages. Not a biggie for me, though.
I believe the Meizu players have been praised for good audioquality, but if you want to choose a player on this factor alone, I would recommend asking in the www.head-fi.org forum.
