After i got my D2, i upgraded to 2.2 firmware right away. I didn't even tested the lyrics function.

Then i really tried the hardest to bring the lyrics to the screen. I used some mp3 tag editor, the LDB manager of Cowon, the "toy" lyrics editor coming with D2,... neither of them worked...

Anyone has an idea here?

Have you enabled the function on your D2. I expect it to be in settings.

First of all, what do you need for this to take place?
how do the d2 recognize the text?
Does it have to be a specific kind of file?

It's software not firmware. It's a program witch let's you put lyris on your songs so you can display them with your D2.

LDB (http://www.cowonglobal.com/download/file/cowon_program/LDB_Mgr/iAUDIO_LDB20_Mgr_Setup_V2.30.zip)

LDB embed's it into the MP3 (so i think in the ID3). I'd like to make a video showing how it displays lyrics. Do you guys want me to show anything else (my cam is not sharp).

Could you describe the exact process?
do you: open ldb, choose u3 preset, double click on music file, search for lyrics, double click on the on ematching your duration of the file, close it and try on d2`?
did that with "thank you", 3:45 duration i think, no luck

Ok first thing not all songs work so first take a familliar song to tag eg. Dido-Thank you.

- Open LDB manager (the newest version here (http://www.cowonglobal.com/download/file/cowon_program/LDB_Mgr/iAUDIO_LDB20_Mgr_Setup_V2.30.zip))

- Choose F2 preset (this one worked for me)

- Click your song and then click search

- (fill in artist and song if it doesn't automatically) click search (it have to be sync lyrics)

- Click marking

- Upload it to your D2

- Enable lyrics on your D2 and it should work like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhZsA-t_TKE)

Ah i was running v2.22, not the newest :D
no f2 preset on that, testing the new one now, and thanks!

EDIT: this version of the manager has d2 preset!!!!
AND it not only works, and shows the text when it should, it also marks the text as it's read, true karaoke!
/me huggles his d2

Thank you! Working great now when I'm using the newest version with the D2 preset. [biggrin]

By the way, the last link doesn't work. "Video unavailable".

Ok...let me clarify this issue...at the moment only Karaoke style Lyrics work on the D2. There is no Text based lyrics that work at the moment. It doesn't matter what data base u are searching from (I believe u can search from the A2, F2, U3 and 6 cause all those players can support Karaoke style type lyrics) As long as you see a microphone icon in front of the lyrics you searched they can work, but they are all XLDB. What does this mean? It means that you can't input ur own lyrics right now and most songs in other languages or other songs that aren't that well known do not have lyrics in the XLDB format.

I couldn't get the http://www.cowonglobal.com/download/file/cowon_program/LDB_Mgr/iAUDIO_LDB20_Mgr_Setup_V2.30.zip link to work today.

If you are like me and trying to find the 2.3 version somewhere else, here's the link from the Korean site: http://download.cowon.com/data/C08/iAUDIO_LDB20_Mgr_Setup_V2.30.zip
