View Full Version : Do you use the stylus?

So, here's wondering if you use the accessory for every touchscreen device: the stylus. We all know it works perfectly well without it, but just for curiosity purposes, do you use yours?
Personally, I keep mine attached and so far I've been using it a decent amount. The idea of making is a stand is brilliant, in my opinion.
Just on the stylus as a stand, can this work with the norove case attached?
I just ordered my D2 today but i'll probably be using the stylus 99% of the time. I'm crazy when it comes to keeping my electronics clean/looking new. I even use hand sanitizer before using most of my electronics, lol, so I will probably be using the sylus most of the time unless the screen stays clean easily

i have screen protector on and use just my fingers, as long as you have clean fingers, your screen still stay clean [smile]

Nope... but i do believe you can close the case in the reverse direction and it will function as a stand, (the reason you cannot use the stylus is due to the fact that the case blocks the slot)

Guess I should get a screen protector because I use my finger quite a bit. However, I do have a Noreve case. That should help protect the screen from scuffs and scratches

Me to..But only for the first few month, then im starging to get less and less carefull and finally i get a scratch on the "thing".
And about the stylus; i dont think it works that well as a stand since it doesnt fit too good, it only fits at the very back then the "hole" is bigger thatn the stylus to it sits lose. I use the stylus at home, its much nicer, ut when im away i dont have the power to bring it..
dude ok i kind of use both the stylus and my thumb but i prefer using the stylus prevetns fingetip makrs on my D2[biggrin] ...hope that helps....thankx dude[thumbsup]
I can't use my stylus as a stand anymore because it slides out, at first it worked fine but now it has decided to quit. anyone else have this problem?

Fingers only here.
Mostly fingers, with a weekly wipe down of the screen protector.
I find the stand fits very firmly with another strap attached to the loop. I don't have the strap on, just the detachable loop part. Just causes the hole on the D2 to be a bit smaller.
I use it all the time, wish I had 2
I don't have it attached, I find it annoying. Finger works just as well. Plus I have a Noreve case so the stylus is annoying when you put the D2 in the case.
And yes, to use the stylus as a stand you need to have it strapped through the hole, otherwise it will not fit snugly and fall out. The hole is the size of the stylus + the cord.
I use my fingers. My stylus is not attached at all. I think it ruins a pretty clean look to tell the truth. I keep the stylus attached to a lined bag I keep my D2 in in case I want to use it as a stand. I have used the stylus from my Treo phone with it a few times though. Easier to hold and use.
Never used the stylus once... I already find the stylus on my Palm Pilot to be smallish - the one on the D2 is useless, IMO.

I've been on the board for only about a week or so, but I've seen your "dude" probably over 100 times in different posts..kinda annoying, sorry if this offends..

That sucks about the stylus not working as a stand, that's the only reason I'd keep it on. But I guess I can put it on my keychain instead??(read: the hole/stand seem like bad design and pretty much useless)

It does work as a stand

A bunch of people have said that it isn't stable with the stylus stand and the stylus doesn't stay in firm after some use? Are those isolated incidents or something?
Just got my 4GB D2 last night. So far no touching the screen with anything besides the stylus.
Especially since I don't have a screen protector yet.

My stylus isn't attached, it's still sitting in the box it came in.
Fingers work perfectly well for navigation and the stylus isn't even a viable option as a stand for me since my coiled headphone cord weighs down the left side of the player.
yeah he says dude a lot but that's ok
lol. yeah, i finally got used to reading "dude". the dude i'll take but the excessive use on the smileys are killing me. i would add some smileys to emphasize how i feel but yeah, i just might get irritated. lol.
no offense jason...dude. ha.
back to thread topic.
i use the stylus once in a while, i guess my fingernails just get the job done a little faster by several seconds without me grabbing a hold on to the stylus.

It is that important to you to post about it? In case you have not realized English is not a first language for a lot of the people on this forum. They are smarter than me on a lot of these topics so as long as they provide useful insight and opinions I don't care if they say 'dude' or 'homie' or 'buddy'.
Besides, it is not great etiquette to flame somebody on an open forum. So lighten up dude.
