I am guessing it isn't, but is the D2 compatible with PlaysForSure/DRM10? Since all the CES coverage said it was I was excited but then I realized that on the Cowon product description page it's left out. Could anyone with the player elaborate on whether it supports DRM10 or not?

I was asking this question too. But no one here wanted to answer. So i went on to Cowon's support and asked. They told me that it will eventually and the time frame that they hoped it would be available was late february/early march.

Are you ForSure? The D2 would be useless to me without URGE compatibility. I presently use the 4gig Clix and the only reason I'm looking to switch is that I need higher output (Clix is only 15 mw per channel) to hook up with my car audio system.

I think I'm going to hold off on the player until then. Honestly, the D2 is pretty awesome, but I'd very much like to use my ruckus sub for it.

Is PlayForSure compatibility:
1. A simple software upgrade?
2. Require the music provider (Urge, Napster, etc.) to issue a license or approval for the D2?
3. A hardware upgrade?

Plays For Sure does not require special hardware. It can be upgraded in firmware.
The U3 was released without Plays For Sure, and was upgraded in about a month. I would think the D2 will be about the same.
I suppose there could be a licensing issue. I never use DRM files, so don't really keep up, but aren't Microsoft pushing a new system for use with the Zune? Maybe they could be phasing Plays For Sure out.

Does the latest firmware version support Playforsure? If not, when? I'm really jonesing for a D2, but it it won't work with URGE, I'll have to pass.
