Not sure where you live but I get a lot of my stuff from newegg.com

Here's a link to transcend 4gb 150x....they also have a slower version.

I'm using Transcend's 150x 4GB card. They run 49 from NewEgg.com They have cheaper 4GB cards but ... this one works well for me, so I'm not sure I want to risk it on the cheaper cards. feedback on the cheaper cards on newegg's site is mixed but most people using Transcend have excellent results.

does anyone have any experience using SD cards that aren't high performance?

also, can you access your cards from the player on the PC, or do they need to be put in a card reader first?

So, any cards that are larger than 4 Gb won't work?
Is there something wrong w/ the player?

Rockin_amigo14

no, it's just the firmware won't recognize any larger cards. however, it's been hinted this may change with future firmware upgrades.

So If I bought the player now, it will play any sd card with firmware upgrade. . .right. . .right?
Or only the newer version will play any sd card?

there is no firmware that supports this YET.

right now the player will support any card 2gb and lower, and a select few 4gb cards.

No one knows for sure that a firm ware upgrade can make the D2 SD HC capable, or if it would require only a firmware upgrade, if cowon will upgrade the firmware to make it SD HC capable

Cowon tech support claims that the next firmware upgrade will make the D2 SDHC compatible. I don't believe the first firmware upgrade addressed the SDHC issue.

I mean 100% sure??
Would be AWESOME

No one knows for sure about future SDHC compatibility, as in "NO ONE knows for SURE".

We'll all know when Cowon confirms it (or not). I suggest watching this space for any NEW news [wink]

does anyone think that PQI 4GB 150x will work?

lets see,
largest SDHC card you can go to the shop and pick up TODAY, 4GB,
8GB and 16GB cards have been shown in trade fairs and such, but havent been appearing on shelfs, it seems theres problems with transfer speeds at those capacities.

supposobly, SDHC is mechanicly compatible, all thats needed is a firmware update to support the new read/write protocols to be able to access the mapping system and fat32 support, fat16 tops at 2GB for MSdos based implementation (dos, windows 95 to millenium) and at 4GB for NT(2k,XP,vista) based systems which use a newer implementation of the FAT16 driver, which also explains why 4GB cards are rarly certified by the SD consortium, as full fat16 compatability would not allow them to certify any card larger then 2GB,

btw, just as a question, anyone knows what brand of SD card is AdvancedMp3players shipping with that 4gb D2 + 4GB SD card deal ?

advancedmp3players.co.uk (http://www.advancedmp3players.co.uk/) included a 4GB Datawrite (datawrite.co.uk (http://www.datawrite.co.uk/)) SD card with my player and it works fine.

ok, alternate (www.alternate.eu) which is a major european IT and electronics retailer has the 4GB normal non SDHC 150x transcend card for 49 euros (vat included, spanish vat is 16%, might be higher in other european countries)

now, they also have 8GB SDHC cards in the 60-70 euro range from kingston, Adata and Transcend
