I live in the US, so these questions apply there.
The reasons that I want the D2:
I _-*LOVE*-_ the feature that allows you to jump to any part of a song by touching the progress bar. LOVE it. This feature makes my life sooo much easier. A lot of the music that I listen to is live and untracked. This means, most of my tracks are at least over an hour long. If I want to scroll to a certain spot in a track, it sucks to have to hold down a fast-forward button for several minutes. Also, the battery life is excellent!
I will probably never put a movie or any photos on it, but I may use it for some text. So, It's going to be a music player exclusively for me.
Now for the questions:
I see that the D2 is available at JetMall.net, but only the black 2GB. I would much rather have thw hite version, and a 4GB model.
Is there any speculation on when the the white version will be released in the US? How about a 4GB model? I saw in another post that a 4GB model was due in May. How accurate is this? I do want it sooner than later, so if these are going to be a couple months away, I'll just get it now.
Also, what will be the difference in price between the 2GB and the 4GB versions? About $50? I'd love even your guesses!
I saw a leather case is already available from noreve, but it looks very expensive. I'd very much like to get a case for my D2. Are there any others available yet? Will there be any available later on? I don't need a leather case by any means, so any material on a quality functional case will do.
The one thing that I don't think I like about the D2 is the stylus. It's tiny, and I wish it stored in the unit differently. So, because I'll probably resort to using my fingers most of the time. So, I want to protect the screen from the very first time I touch it on. Can anyone suggest a quality screen protector that won't mess with the touch-screen, and that doesn't distort the image too much?
