I just finished watching video #2 (which was very cool), I can't believe it also has a line in record feature... I couldn't see the jack for line in anywhere before. Well now that it has line in, I'm really looking forward to it. I just wished that these players had bluetooth feature so that it would be easier to transfer stuff. A built in USB connector would be great to, so I could use it like my 1 gig shuffle as a flash drive and save stuff on it. BTW, does anyone know if bluetooth transfer speed is as high as USB 2?
...Anyway, point of this message was line-in= [thumbsup]
Ohh... and what was the consensus about it being able to play a wide range of movie formats? Thanks
It only plays movies after conversion with JetAudio
Built in USB-connectors: Urgh! I hate them. They make the device much bigger, uglier and unpractical.

Ok, if you're not a fan of the USB, then how about BlueTooth? You have to agree that some kinda wireless connectivity would be good... transfer photos from BT camera, listen to music on BT headphones, transfer mp3's from computer... I think it would be worth it... though I've never had a bluetooth device before except my laptop, but there's nothing to sync it with.

That would drain batteries quick
Meh, I am not really a big fan of bluetooth either. I would much rather see wifi in a PMP to be honest. But it all makes it cost more, and drain battery faster ...
Cowon should use my font patch. [smile]
Their font is too small...

Actually, maybe bluetooth isn't the best idea... but I just heard about some new tech. the title of the article is: "Kleer wireless audio claims 10x battery life advantage over Bluetooth". If it's less of a power drain then it's a win win situation. So if anyone from Cowon is reading this, look up Kleer wireless and see if you could build it in.

who knows when it will be available. But it is a great product if it can actually do what it claims.

721 Kbps which is not a lot faster than an old fashioned serial port. Not a good way to transfer much data.
maybe will be implemented in D2 "gapless"
CPU on the motherboard have a big power...
Is someone able to find on korean cowon site if there is a Cowon D2 multilanguage manual?...it would be nice ^_^..just to know better this player while waiting it...
I don't think there is an english manual available yet.

question: does it have subtitle support for videos? If not, is it possible to encode the subtitles directly into the video with any software?

Jetaudio has a function to put subtitles on your movies while you convert.

It's not a bad idea actually because of the size of the viewing area. You can increase the size of the subtitle font so you won't be straining your eyes too much.
